Taking the ESI subject assessment work practice conducted by the China University of Mining and Technology Library as an example,the ESI and InCites database was used to illustrate the discipline construction of China University of Mining and Technology with indicators such as 1% of academic subjects,scholars,highly cited papers,and hot papers.The current situation was analyzed macroscopically,and the status quo of the discipline development was evaluated from the perspective of literature analysis,and the strengths and weaknesses of the evaluation discipline were analyzed.The first was that it was not possible to deeply study the relationship between many documents.It was recommended that the citation analysis tools provided by Histcite,Citespace,and Web of Science platforms be used as auxiliary tools for ESI subject assessment tools to achieve a more in-depth and comprehensive development of disciplines.The analysis provided a reliable basis for the development of the university's discipline development policy,and provided a reference for later discipline construction and development.The second was the requirement for the ability to participate in the discipline assessment staff.It was recommended that corresponding measures be taken in terms of strengthening training,and While improving the ability of subject assessment staff,it establish it relationships with teachers according to the development of disciplines in various universities,and provided related discipline-related services for their daily scientific research;and finally,the discipline construction of universities focusing on science and engineering.The weak disciplines in development proposed countermeasures in the absence of literature resources.
