1.Submission Guidelines
The Journal of Modern Information (formerly Information Knowledge) is an academic journal in the field of information resource management, overseen by Department of Science and Technology of Jilin Province and jointly sponsored by the Jilin Institute of Scientific and Technological Information and the China Society for Scientific and Technical Information. Established in 1980, the journal publishes 12 issues annually. It focuses on the latest advancements in theoretical research and innovative practices in information science that serve national strategic needs, emphasizes the discipline's development trends, highlights cutting-edge topics, and builds a distinctive academic exchange platform to promote the growth of the academic community.
Journal of Modern Information is indexed in CSSCI, a national core journal in Chinese, an AMI core journal for humanities and social sciences,reprints in photocopied newspapers and periodicals key source journal,a core journal in China's scientific and technical fields (Social Sciences section), and RCCSE's core academic journal in China. It is also included in the international Scopus database and has repeatedly been recognized as an academic journal with significant international influence.
The journal adopts a double-blind peer review process by experts. Submitted papers should be at least 8,000 words in length, with no upper limit in principle.
2.Copyright Statement
Papers published in this journal are included in full by databases such as China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), VIP Journal Integration Platform (VIP Database), and the National Social Science Academic Journal Database. They are also available through open access (OA) on the journal’s official website. Authors who do not wish their papers to be included in these databases or made available via OA should specify this during submission.
3.Academic Standards
(1) The paper must be the original work of the author(s) and properly attributed. Respect for intellectual property rights is required, and citations must be accurate and truthful.
(2) Adhere to basic standards of writing, citation, and annotation.
(3) The journal strictly opposes academic misconduct such as duplicate submissions and plagiarism. Submitted papers must not be under review or accepted for publication by other journals.
(4) Upon submission, please carefully review the journal’s "Guidelines and Requirements for AIGC in Academic Research and Writing."
4.Formatting Requirements
4.1 Paper Structure Order
Chinese title; author’s name; author’s affiliation, city, and postal code; Chinese abstract, keywords, classification number; English title; English abstract, keywords; main text; funding projects; corresponding author; author biography; references; author contribution statement; supporting data.
4.2 Abstract Format
The journal uses a structured abstract, approximately 200 words in length, requiring corresponding content in both Chinese and English. It should include [Objective/Significance], [Methods/Process], and [Results/Conclusion].
4.3 Keywords
Keywords should be selected to best represent the core content of the paper and allow for quick and accurate retrieval, typically 5-8 keywords, with corresponding Chinese and English.
4.4 Classification Number
Classification numbers are based on the Chinese Library Classification (CLC). For interdisciplinary research, two classification numbers should be provided.
4.5 Numbering Format
Use hierarchical numbering such as 1, 1.1, 1.1.1, not exceeding three levels. If further subdivisions are needed, ①, ②, ③ may be used for differentiation.
4.6 Funding Projects
Funding projects should be indicated in a footnote on the first page of the paper, including the name of the fund, the project title, and the project number. A maximum of two funding projects is allowed, and they must be relevant to the content of the article.
4.7 Corresponding Author and Other Author Biographies
The corresponding author’s information and contact details should be indicated in a footnote on the first page, including name, birth year, degree, title, and research direction. The corresponding author is responsible for all communication between the editorial office and the authors during the submission process, such as manuscript revisions, proofreading, and feedback. Other author biographies should also be indicated in footnotes on the first page, including name, birth year, degree, title, and research direction.
5.Figures and Tables Guidelines
(1) Figures and tables must be closely related to the content of the paper. Each figure or table should be explained in the text, and used only when absolutely necessary. The journal requires three-line tables, and tables must remain intact in the PDF version of the paper.
(2) Figures and tables should be numbered and titled, such as "Figure 1 xxxxxx" or "Table 1 xxxxxx," and should include titles in both Chinese and English.
(3) If figures or tables are cited from other sources, their origins must be indicated below them, and authors must resolve copyright issues.
(4) Figures and tables must be clear. If figures or tables are not clear in the Word document, the original figures or tables must be provided as attachments during submission.
6.Citation Methods
(1) Citations must be indicated in the text using superscript numbers and listed in a sequentially numbered reference list at the end of the paper. Each reference in the list must be cited in the main text.
(2) When citing multiple references at the same location, list the reference numbers in square brackets, separated by commas. If consecutive numbers are cited, a range of numbers may be used.
(3) According to the "Rules for the Description of References" (GB/T 7714—2015), for multiple citations of the same author’s work, the first citation number should be used in the text, with the page number indicated outside the square brackets. For non-book references, only the first citation number is used.
(4) When a reference has three or fewer authors, list all; if there are more than three, list the first three followed by "et al." For foreign authors, use "surname + initial(s)," with the surname fully capitalized and initials capitalized without periods.
(5) Titles of foreign literature should capitalize the first letter of each word except for articles and prepositions.
(6) For the source information of foreign references, capitalize the first letter of each word except for articles and prepositions.
Reference Citation Format
7.Basic citation requirements are as follows:
(1) The journal follows the national standard GB/T 7714—2015 for in-text citations and reference lists.
(2) Unpublished work or personal communications should not be listed in references but included as footnotes on the relevant page.
(3) The accuracy of reference sources is the responsibility of the author.
8.Fees
The journal does not charge a review fee. A publication fee of 300 RMB per page is charged for accepted papers,the highest fee per paper charged is 3000 RMB, and authors receive a complimentary copy of the issue in which their paper is published.
