The mission,core competencies and research strategy of the Royal School of Library and Information Science(RSLIS)were summarized based on the relevant literature and investigation abroad.The advance in information analysis,such as scientific communication,scientometrics,bibliometrics,webmetrics and publication assessment system,was introduced in detail.Hoping this study can supply reference for the development of our libraries and the information studies.

Introducing the Chinese residents' information consumption data from 1998 to 2007,the paper used the ELES model and discussed the Chinese residents' information consumption structure.From the perspective of consumption structure,it pointed out the characteristics of the chinese residents' information consumption,and put forward proposals to improve the information consumption structure.

This paper attempted to study Web information by applied rough set theory.The web link information of Guangxi 17 colleges was studied in this paper.To build adversely affect site traffic ranking index system,and rough set theory as a data processing tool,it was calculated that the conditions obtained after reduction properties,and automatically derived 12 decision rules.The empirical results showed that the construction of the index system was reasonable and correct results could provide quantitative information of university website.

Tacit knowledge is highly abstracted which derives from integration of explicit knowledge and practical experiences,and which supports efficient reasoning and rapid retrieving.Tacit knowledge is acquired in practice;and tacit knowledge can also guide the individual to practice better.In this process,the mechanism of assimilating and accommodating plays an important role.Concept lattice is a mathematic theory on the relationship between objects and attributes.With the theory of concept lattice,formation of tacit knowledge can have a better understanding.It can provide a good direction for tacit knowledge management.

In view of the features of complexity and fuzziness in the university library electronic resources services,this paper has constructed a comprehensive evaluation model with the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.This establishment and application of the model is a beneficial attempt of quantitative evaluation in university electronic resources services.

Creating knowledge is the important factor of social productive forces development in knowledge-base economy times,and library is the ideal organization carrying out it.This paper introduced the IDE-SECI model,and discussed the process of knowledge creating and changes based on IDE-SECI model in library arouse from the external knowledge.

Using the 36 library and information science journals from 2004 to 2008 in China Citation Data as data sources,the paper revealed the citation structure implied in these journals by applying SNA.Through measuring the centrality,connectedness and block-model to analysis the character of the entire citation network and the attribution of the journal,the paper discussed the question about the evaluation of scholar journal.The research results provided a quantitative support for evaluation of academic journals.

The digital library of the National Library of Korea(Dibrary)was launched on May 25,2009.In this paper,the author reviewed the establishment and features of Dibrary with special emphasis on two main components,namely the Dibrary Portal and Information Commons.This paper also introduces the innovative idea in promoting this project by the National Library of Korea.The Dibrary project indicated that a digital library should be a virtual library as well as a physical library.
