Journal of Modern Information Included in the 2023 Edition of the Chinese Core Journal Catalog
Recently, Editorial Board received a notification from the editorial committee of the Chinese Core Journal Catalog for the 2023 edition, stating that Journal of Modern Information has been included as a core journal in the field of library and information management. The inclusion is based on the principles and methods of bibliometrics, as well as the retrieval, statistics, and analysis of relevant literature by researchers, and the evaluation by subject experts.
The research work for the 2023 edition of the Chinese Core Journal Catalog began in October 2021 and was led by the Peking University Library. A total of 148 experts and staff members from 32 institutions participated in the research, and 9,473 subject experts from across the country took part in the evaluation of the core journal list. Through quantitative screening and expert qualitative evaluation, 1,987 core journals were selected from the Chinese journals currently being published.
Journal of Modern Information, established in 1980, is a core academic journal in the field of information resource management. The journal is under the supervision of the Department of Science and Technology of Jilin Province and jointly sponsored by Jilin Institute of Scientific and Technical Information and China Society of Scientific and Technical Information. It focuses on reporting the latest advancements in theoretical research and practical innovation in the field of intelligence studies that serve national strategic needs. The journal pays attention to the development direction of the discipline, focuses on cutting-edge issues, and strives to build a distinctive academic exchange platform, promoting the development and growth of the academic community. It is a source journal in the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI), a national Chinese core journal, an AMI core journal in Chinese humanities and social sciences, a Chinese Science and Technology Core Journal (Social Sciences Volume), and an RCCSE Chinese core academic journal. It has also been included in the international Scopus database and has received multiple accolades as an excellent academic journal with international influence in China.
After a gap of 6 years, Journal of Modern Information has once again been included in the Peking University Chinese Core Journal Catalog. This is not only a recognition and affirmation of the journal's editorial quality and level, but also an encouragement and motivation for us. The journal will continue to uphold the correct political direction, academic orientation, and value orientation, and strive to make greater contributions to the field of information resource management in our country.
