Recently, our magazine received the "Inclusion Notice of Chinese Core Journals Overview 2014 Edition" sent by the Editorial Board of the Chinese Core Journals Overview 2014 Edition. The notice showed that "Journal of Modern Information" was included in the core journals of "Library and Information Industry" in the Chinese Core Journals Overview 2014 Edition (i.e. the 7th edition). The Chinese Core Journals Overview is published by Peking University Press. According to the subject system of the "Chinese Library Classification", the book lists the core journals of 74 disciplines and records them one by one.

Based on the in-depth study of the evaluation theory and methods of core journals, the 2014 edition project team of the Chinese Core Journals Overview further improved the evaluation methods of core journals, making it more scientific and reasonable, and striving to make the evaluation results conform to objective reality. Quantitative evaluation and qualitative review are still used for the evaluation of core journals. The quantitative evaluation index system adopts 12 evaluation indicators such as the number of retrievals, the number of abstracts, the number of citations, the number of external citations, the retrieval rate, the impact factor, the external impact factor, the inclusion in important retrieval systems, the ratio of fund papers, the number of Web downloads, the paper citation index, and the mutual citation index. The database and abstracted publications selected as statistical sources have reached more than 50, and the total number of literature counted is more than 6.5 billion, involving 14,728 journals. More than 3,700 subject experts participated in the evaluation of core journals. After quantitative screening and expert qualitative review, 1,983 core journals were selected from the Chinese journals currently being published.

The fact that "Journal of Modern Information" was selected as a Chinese core journal is the result of the strong support of our authors, readers, and industry experts for many years. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all friends! We hope to continue to receive everyone's support and care for the future development of "Journal of Modern Information". Let us work together to make "Journal of Modern Information" better and strive for the sustained development and innovation of China's library and information science!
